This server version is not supported. Only servers up to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 are supported

I wanted to create a SSRS report using Microsoft Visual Studio Query builder. Once I finished the data source configuration, when I launched the Query Builder, I have received below error MSG.

 

 According to Microsoft MSDN articles it seems to be a compatibility issue between MS Visual Studio and SQL Server. To resolve this issue, we need to install Visual Studio 2008 SP1.

The Visual Studio 2008 SP1 can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13276

The error MSG disappeared after installing the Visual Studio 2008 SP1.
