Configuring System Center Update Publisher 2011 is a little complex then just installing the application.
There many individual steps involved from installing SCUP 2011 to deploying the software updates using SCCM 2012.

3. Configure SCUP integration with SCCM
4. Certificate configuration and deployment
5. Publish Updates using SCUP
6. Deploy updates using SCCM
